A DESIGNER'S ORIGINAL

You are a designer's original.  We all entered into this world through the birth canal or what I refer to as the Stargate. We were all raised by parents or guardians who were likely to train us in the patterns they also were raised. It is a fact that for generations many have been guilty of trying to live their lives vicariously through their children.   I do not fault a mother or father for having a better vision for their child or children than what they've experienced, but oftentimes they failed to discern the original plan of the Lord Creator for that particular child’s life.

I was enlightened many years ago as I studied the proverb that says train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:1). Socially, we are exposed to our parent’s way of thinking and doing things. Very little space is usually given to see things outside of the box they passed down to us.

Be willing to be very honest with yourself.

This is not an exercise of condemnation but to simply list your strengths and weaknesses. This will be almost impossible for some people to do because they have such high esteem for themselves that all they see is perfection. Don’t get in that trap. Be honest. What makes you happy or unhappy? What are some of the things that you are excited to do and will do for free?

• How do you respond under pressure?
Does your name have meaning and do you see those qualities in your life?
How do you respond to the criticism of others?

Ask yourself these questions and think of others during your examination. There are different kinds of personality tests online. I've taken a few of them myself and found them to be helpful. Be honest and willing to do the work for transformation. Invite Holy Spirit in on this process. Don't go at it alone. Holy Spirit knows the mind and plans of God concerning you so pray to receive His wisdom
and the understanding to make the right adjustments to restore your original self.
